Show: The Drowsy Chaperone
Place: BHS Theater
The Drowsy Chaperone is a musical with book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar (Second City Alum) and music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison. It is a parody of American musical comedy of the 1920s. The story concerns a middle-aged, asocial musical theatre fan; as he plays the record of his favorite musical, the (fictional) 1928 hit The Drowsy Chaperone, the show comes to life onstage as he wryly comments on the music, story, and actors.
Hey, everyone! My name is Tim and I am going to be directing the musical this year. For two years, I was a cast member on the Broadway National Tour of The Drowsy Chaperone, and it was some of the most fun I have ever had. I can’t wait to share this show with you and hope to see you at our informational meeting on , August 29from in the theatre. For those of you who like to plan ahead, we will teach you a song from the show at our first meeting which you can sing for your audition, but you may prepare a song of your own, as well. Auditions will be held and of the same week from , with call backs and Friday. Please clear your calendars to be available on each of those days.
Spread the word and let’s have an amazing production this year!
