BHS News

On Thursday, September 1st, BHS will host our annual Fall Open House.  This is an opportunity for parents to learn about their daughter or son’s schedule and the expectations in each of the the courses.  We will run through an abbreviated schedule so that you will have a chance to meet all of their teachers.  Your son or daughter will be asked to bring home their schedule for you.  However, sometimes high school students forget to bring things home so I have included a template for the evening’s schedule.  Ask your son or daughter to complete this for you before the Open House. (It’s a great exercise to help them learn their schedule.)
For parents of Seniors, note on the schedule there is a Senior Project informational session from 5:30 - 5:50 in the theater.
For parents of students taking Hybrids courses this semester you will also note a 5:30 - 5:50 meeting schedule in the template.

Traffic Pattern for Drop-off and Pick-up
Anyone familiar with the traffic at the BHS/RAL campus knows that things can get a little hectic during the morning and afternoon drop off and pick up.
Please click here to review the drop off and pick up practices at Lurgio.
As always, we ask all drivers to do the following:
  • Pull forward as far as possible in the Pick Up/Drop Off Area.
  • Yield to pedestrians at all times when on campus.
  • Take turns at the main intersections when congestion is high.
  • Be patient.

BHS Theatre Company: Fall Musical Informational Meeting

Show: The Drowsy Chaperone
Date: 8/29/16
Time: 3 - 4 PM
Place: BHS Theater

The Drowsy Chaperone is a musical with book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar (Second City Alum) and music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison. It is a parody of American musical comedy of the 1920s. The story concerns a middle-aged, asocial musical theatre fan; as he plays the record of his favorite musical, the (fictional) 1928 hit The Drowsy Chaperone, the show comes to life onstage as he wryly comments on the music, story, and actors.

Hey, everyone!  My name is Tim and I am going to be directing the musical this year.  For two years, I was a cast member on the Broadway National Tour of The Drowsy Chaperone, and it was some of the most fun I have ever had.  I cant wait to share this show with you and hope to see you at our informational meeting on Monday, August 29from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.  in the theatre.  For those of you who like to plan ahead, we will teach you a song from the show at our first meeting which you can sing for your audition, but you may prepare a song of your own, as well.  Auditions will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday of the same week from 3-5 p.m., with call backs on Thursday and Friday.   Please clear your calendars to be available on each of those days.

Spread the word and let’s have an amazing production this year!

InfoSnap Goes Live August 3rd!

The student information platform InfoSnap will be live on Wednesday, August 3rd.  We ask all families to carefully review all of the information and update accordingly.  Once you have updated you will have access to your son or daughter’s updated schedule.  The schedule in Infosnap is the most up-to-date and may be different from earlier schedules because of changes in staffing and efforts to maintain reasonable class sizes.
